Looking back at all the amazing tracks, memorable parties, and exciting new talent throughout the past year, it is amazing to think what we have all achieved as this decade nears conclusion. Time seems to rush past with formidable haste. Just as we are congratulating the winner of DJ Mag’s famous Top 100 DJ Poll of 2008 it seems it is time to swap our glowsticks for a keyboard and a mouse once again. And 2009 is no exception to the rule. Just yesterday we were revelling in the success of the Dutchman Mr van Buuren and the comeback of real trance. But here we are, time for the clubber, the raver, the armchair enthusiast to give back, to commend those who brought them smiles, shivers and that unforgettable dance floor moment.

DJ Mag’s Top 100 Poll has become the most prestigious event in the EDM scene, the accolade boosting careers, records deals and generating controversy the world over. Last year 350,000 People voted for their top five favourite DJ’s and producers of 2008. This is set to increase as more people are inspired by EDM the world over. So why not give thanks to those DJ’s who have impressed you in 2009?

Be sure to vote Rico Portland if you have been impressed by any of my sets in 2009, any of my mixes or just the site itself. Promotion of any kind is welcome – but most of all, continued support form you, the people who I share my musical passion with - you are the reason behind my motivation. There are relatively few of us behind the brand, but those who have dedicated time and effort to making everything you see before you possible, they deserve recognition, and this is your opportunity to make that a reality.

I have voted for my top five artists, can you guess who they are from the various review and charts on the site?! I’ll leave you to ponder that whilst you click over to...
